How did a class 8th dropout, grow to give employment to 30000 women artisans ?

Hailing from Rajasthan’s Barmer, Ruma Devi is the first women artisan of Thar desert. Dropping out of school due to her situation, she learnt sewing and slowly started a Self-help group of women. This expanded and they now create handicrafted textile items that are displayed in international forums.

She has generated employment for over 30,000 women artisans from Rajasthan. She was even invited by Harvard University as a speaker for the 17th annual India Conference.
