Farhad Nouri and his family fled their home in Afghanistan and are stranded in Serbia, where he has honed his artistic talents.
In a Serbian camp for refugees, Farhad Nouri, a 10-year-old child from Afghanistan dwells with his parents and two younger brothers. His passion and talent have made him a local celebrity, and he himself has already captured several celebrities in his sketches. German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, artist Salvador Dali, and actress Angelina Jolie are now in his collection of hand-drawn masterpieces.
Farhad loves painting and he loves Pablo Picasso. This and his talent have earned him the title ‘The Little Picasso’. He plans to draw the renowned Spanish artist as well someday. Besides celebrities, Farhad also fancies illustrating nature, fantasy castles, as well as family and friends, on canvas or paper.
He learned a bit of painting from his father at the age of 6. He now learns from YouTube videos and draws from pictures he finds on the internet.
Painting and drawing faces and his own feelings aren’t his only passion. He explores other talents of his as well. “I like photography, also. I like to take a photo from (of) some nice place and also I like to play music, play guitar.” He said.
