Adonis is a senior at Landstown High School in Virginia. He was born with no right leg, only one finger on his right hand, and a left leg that ends mid-thigh. Throughout his life, he’s made it his mission to prove that there’s nothing he can’t accomplish with his unique, but still very capable, body.
The 17-year-old athlete says winning States was a goal he’d had for ages, and he was thrilled to finally see it come to fruition. He’s been wrestling since the second grade. He’s even an All-American athlete! Taking home the top prize in his age bracket was the culmination of a lifetime of hard work.
“I’ve been dreaming of this since I knew what it was, and to finally have it happen is just — I don’t know how to explain it,” he said. “Really if you work hard, you can do anything — even win a state championship without legs.”
