Wojtek, The bear that joined the war (en.wikipedia.org)

Wojtek – a magnificent 500 pound bear who fought in World War II, alongside a band of Polish soldiers.

The story starts in Alborz Mountains of Northern Iran where the 22nd artillery Supply company of Polish troops that survived the Nazi Blitzkrieg was posted in 1942.

A shepherd boy rescued the cub & sells to Polish soldiers for a few tins of food.

The soldiers grow and train the cub & it accompanies them through the war.

A movie was also taken on this interesting bear – “Wojtek: The Bear That Went to War” https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2076992/
